A rite of passage is a ceremony and marks the transition from one phase of life to another. Although it is often used to describe the tumultuous transition from adolescence to adulthood, it does refer to any of life’s transitions (Births and Beginnings, Initiations and Endings or Death).We are living in a depraved society,as far as spiritual rituals are concerned. We suffer from a shortage of rites of passage—or at any rate a shortage of meaningful rites of passage.If we have only the most superficial of religious rituals, it is because these rites of passage no longer provide direct contact with the numinous. This is where psychedelics can help.....And here is where we step into the abyss which we call our 'Self '.
